Claiming PhilHealth Deductions from the Hospital – Part Two

This is part two of my journey as a first time claimant for PhilHealth benefits. My son was discharged from the hospital last night and I successfully claimed my Philhealth benefits via outright deductions from my hospital bill.

How to process your final hospital bill and claim Philhealth deductions:

1. Read part one for the requirements.

2. Add to the requirements, the CF2 form which is the claiming form for your doctor’s professional fees. I told the doctor I will claim my Philhealth benefits and after a few minutes, the CF2 form was given to me by the nurse. Note that I did not print the form nor had it with me. Your hospital should have this form ready for your doctor to fill up and sign.

In the form the doctor would state the amount of professional fees, the amount you paid, and the Philhealth deductions. I do not have a clear understanding of this but the billing department says Philhealth will send me a check to reimburse the payment I have made.

The CF2 given to me states the PF amounting to Php 7,000 with Php 2,000 deductions, and Php 5,000 as the total payment I have made. However, I gave Php 10,000 to my son’s doctor. I feel something is wrong with this and would check back with the hospital customer’s service when I come back. What do you think?

3. Now with all the forms in tow, proceed to the billing section and just wait. The final summary of charges will now contain the amount of Philhealth deductions. My deduction amounted to Php 10,000 +/- and I am very happy! Except for the blurry CF2 and professional fee.

4. Pay the remaining balance at the hospital’s cashier. Now you can look for the hospital exit signs and finally go home! :)

With outright deductions there is no need to submit receipts, etc to Philhealth and it was very easy. I was imagining a chaotic claiming process but I was wrong. For the first time, I feel that the government has helped me. Thank you.
